One easy way to find money to start your business

money start a business

Money Palava!!!

Last week, I got really sad because I did not have as much money as I wanted. I was not broke oh, I just did not have as much money as I wanted, so I started complaining, from complaining I got into a bad mood, before I knew it, I broke down and started crying,  I lost hope and the only things I kept seeing were the things that were not working. I wanted to just close shop, as in fire my staff and quit my business. It was one of those days when you just say, “I am tired”.

The following day, a friend of mine that I had not spoken to in a while called me, and as we were catching up on long pending gist. One thing led to the other, and as I was trying to explain something, I started telling her how I was grateful to God for a number of things in my life.  I was saying them in quick succession, and after I dropped the call, I had this huge relief in my heart. I was not sad anymore. I suddenly had a new lease of life. in the next 30 mins, i got inspired to make a fab new earring that i had been struggling with and a new bag design. (will share the pictures with you in my next post).  I wondered why I was suddenly so happy, and then it hit me.

Gratitude is a switch

If you continue to focus on what you don’t have, you will never have enough, and you will never see the good in what you have. It is just a negative cycle, because it is not like complaining brings you any money or does you any good.

On the other hand, when you focus on being grateful for what you have, you will be in the right frame of mind to see the good in the things you have, and ideas on how to capitalize on them will start coming to you.

Do you have an idea to start a business and you feel you don’t have enuogh money? Start by being grateful for all the things that you already have. You will start looking at the things you have in a new light. You must have heard people say, “start with what you have”. It is gratitude that makes you see what you have, and gets you excited about doing something with the little that you have.

The single greatest thing you can do to change your life today would be to start being grateful for what you have right now. And the more grateful you are, the more you get.”

— Oprah Winfrey

Hi Steph, thanks for this great piece. Although am seeing it years after it was written, it inspired me. Despite having a marriage that is at the verge of breaking and living with uncertainty as per the future, I am still grateful to God. For my family who has never given up on trying to make me happy and for being alive to see this day. It’s a blessing.
    Thanks again!
